A: Lloyd Williams sang the song in an LA studio for the soundtrack, while Dewayne Jessie (as Otis "My Man" Day) was the actor who lip-synched the song in the film. After "Animal House" was released, Jessie immediately began touring as Otis Day & the Knights. Eventually, he even legally changed his name to Otis Day.
