Press Quotes
"Early setup is smoothly established through a combo of trim editing, a Vivaldi-esque music score that hardly ever pauses and sharp dialogue that clearly establishes the characters."
Derek Elley, Variety

"I defy anyone with a taste for this kind of thing not to enjoy Casanova. Probably Hallstrom's most entertaining film since My Life as a Dog, it often seems to be a snazzy comic opera libretto begging for a Mozart. But it does get the next-best thing: a wonderful, lilting score derived from baroque classics by Vivaldi, Albinoni, Corelli and the like."
Michael Wilmington, Chicago Tribune

Patrick Frye III from Charlotte, NC reacts: "The critic from the Chicago Tribune, Michael Wilmington, wrongly puts his desire for Mozart for this movie. The year is stated at the beginning that it is 1753, and in true history, Mozart was not born until 1756. The choice of Vivaldi, Handel, Albinoni, Rameau and so forth is totally in keeping with this period piece that is an entertaining pastiche of the possibilities of Casanova's life. At least, with all its inacuracies, they did get the music right!"
