Soundtrack Q & A
Q: I saw the movie and loved it. I am trying to find out what the song was that they marched to in boot camp. They had on green fatigues and started out marching and ended up marching in time to the music. It is in boot camp near the beginning. Thanks, Joanne (from Joanne in delaware)

A: Used in a Budweiser Superbowl commercial (thanks to dunsany, Seattle, WAadd more info

Q: Does anyone know where I can buy buy the piano music for "Depression"?
...from Anita in England (answer Anita's question)

Q: There is one part of the movie where they are marching to a cadence and I belive the words go along the lines of "Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines..." Do you know the words? And is there any way I can get a sound clip or recording of that song? I believe it was also used for an armed forces commercial many years ago. (from Irene in Miami, Florida, USA)
A: It is not, at least was not at that time, a cadence. It was an recruiting commercial from the late seventies, early eighties. It was "...Pick a service, pick a challenge... Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, we don't ask for experience, we give it. You won't read it in a book, you'll live it." There may be more but that is what I remember. (thanks to Old Army Ranger, Cleveland, Ohioadd more info
A: We don't ask for experience, we give it. You don't read it in a book, you live it. Pick up service. Pick up challenge. Give yourself a start! Amy, Navy, Air Force, Marines. What a great place to start. (thanks to batwimp, PG, UTadd more info

Q: What song is Bill Murray singing when he's walking down the street carrying pizza and girlfriend's dry-cleaning? It starts off "...one of these days the thing that I want's gonna be mine... If it ain't that'll be alright as long as there's sunshine...." Immediately following, his car is stolen in front of him. Any ideas? (from Greg in NC)
A: "Rainbow Stew" by Merle Haggard (thanks to Easy j Coe, Texasadd more info

A: Mel McDaniel, "Big Ole Brew" (thanks to Large Marge, Portland, ORadd more info

Q: I am looking for the sheet music and score for the "Stripes March" theme song. Is there someplace I can order it? (from Bigjohnverde in Atlanta, Georgia, USA)
A: Try tnv.net (thanks to TOONPIKESadd more info

Q: When John is getting his shoes shined there's an Army ad on TV he's watching. Is this a real ad? What company and what year was it made? (from 11 in Los Angeles)
A: The commercial that Jon is watching was indeed produced as a recruitment ad for the United States Army. I believe if I'm not mistaken, it came out in 1979 or 1980, it was titled Army Strong. How ironic, that they only used that title for Army Recruiting for just a few years before moving on to Be All You Can Be, then to An Army Of One, and now they are back to using Army Strong all over again. Funny how some things keep coming back every now and then. (thanks to JohnnyBGood, Missouriadd more info

Q: Can you tell me which song was played in the 2010 Budweiser human bridge commercial? (from Benson23 in Iowa)
A: The Stripes March (thanks to Shrub, Australiaadd more info
