Q: We hear the short part of a string & harp piece as they are getting off the bus. It is an old classical piece yet I have never found anyone that could identify it. What is the piece and who composed it? Please let me know if you need more info to identify as I have been looking for the name of this piece for at least 30 years. (from Rod in Vicksburg, MS USA)
A: Try "Alexander's Feast" by G.F. Handel, "Nun Will Die Sonn' So Hell Aufgeh'n" by Gustav Mahler or "Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima" - Krzysztof Penderecki. These three classical pieces are involved in the movie. (thanks to nemfoneadd more info
A: Thanks for the info, however I listened to all of these and it is none of them. I said harp and strings but it is actually flutes and strings. It is not exactly a fugue but does have a recurring theme from instrument type to type. (thanks to Rod Erickson, Vicksburg, MS USAadd more info
