Q: | I just heard the beginning of this movie with a song performed by an Irish female voice. Which song is this and who is the artist or group? (from Steve in Wilmington, NC USA) |
A: | Steve, I haven't found the group yet. The song is called "The Princes Day," and is a traditional Irish song written by Thomas Moore. The melody is called "Saint Patrick's Day." Although there are many similar songs, THAT is the one. The singer actually sounds to me like a young boy, possibly from a choir (for example, like the theme for "Tinker, Tailor Soldier, Spy"). I have actually been looking for this same answer for some time. I'll post the group if I find it. (thanks to Mike K, Mesa, Arizona, USA) add more info |
