Q: | What music is playing when Paul Newman parks in the toy store parking lot and goes in to talk to Tom Cruise? The accompanying music is not on the sound track and to the best of my knowledge is uncredited. There is no singing or lyrics. Just a jazzy tune. I feel it may be a Robbie Robertson track but I've never found the name of the track. (from Red in Lubbock, Texas) |
A: | It's probably Gil Evans orchestrations to Robbie's melodies. I have to get a copy of the film... I don't have a copy even though I worked on it with Gil Evans and did a lot of the transcribing of Robbie Robertson initial ideas for Gil to work with. I just found a little sketch to one while cleaning files and was doing a search to see if I could find the name. Unfortunately they cut out some of the greatest music when they did the final film. Was a real shame in my opinion. (thanks to Maria Schneider, New York) add more info |

Thanks so much. ...from Bing in Carsonville Michigan USA (answer Bing's question) |
