Q: | Hello there, I'm trying to find the name of the music heard when the ICS dancers perform their routine (the music that starts just after the lawyer chap says "it's time"). (from Col in Warwickshire, England) |
A: | I think it's Paula's Theme by Jackie Jackson and Glen Barbee, but it isn't on the soundtrack CD. (thanks to Stephen Kelly, Belfast) add more info |
A: | I am not sure about this. The instrumentation is I think indistinguishable to the Faltermeyer synthesiser work, sounding quite similar I think to the kind of drums he used on Latoyah Jackson's Turn on the Radio from the following year. So it could be a Faltermeyer track or even a Barbee/Jackson track performed by Harold Faltermeyer. There's also another piece, either a Death or a War March I think credited to Jackson/Barbee used in The Running Man too.
I think it would make sense however that the song be called Paula's Theme as the dancing was choreographed by Paula Abdul.
The only other big credits I could find for Jackson/Barbee online were for their work on Janet Jackson's first album in the very early 80s. Pehaps I am not looking hard enough. I would be curious to hear more about their work, as the I think that uniformly, the Running Man had a brilliant soundtrack. (thanks to Tim, UK) add more info |

Q: | What's the song from this film with the words "dreams" or "dreaming" in it? It may be from a band called Utah Saints but are not sure. There was something about "...it's time to start running" before or during this song in the film. (from darren reid in dundee, scotland, united kingdom) |
A: | I don't know if this song is actually a part of the Running Man soundtrack, but it did sample dialog from the movie. I think you're right about it being by Utah Saints. The lyric snippet you're thinking of is "...did I dream you dreamed about me..." and gets repeated throughout the song. (thanks to Aurora Williams, Oregon, United States of America) add more info |
A: | The song is "Temple of Dreams" by Messiah. (thanks to Knight Rider, Philly) add more info |
