Quote: "It was recorded with a large orchestra; 50 strings, double ww, 6 hrns, 2 tmpts, 4 trmbns, tuba, timp, 2 perc, harp, celeste, and a female choir." from Ilan Eshkeri at an interview.
Here are the links if you would like more about the "can-can" music for Stardust.
Can-Can was a form of dance derived from the quadrille or galop similar to our foxtrot. The song played for the can-can is called Galop Infernal. Many composers wrote versions of the music for it. The most known is by Jacques Offenbach- Galop infernal: Orpheus in the Underworld (Orphée aux enfers.). The first performance was at the Théâtre des Bouffes Parisiens, Paris. The original writer for the can-can was not Carl Orff. So far the only way to have that exact piece played in Stardust is the soundtrack. (thanks to Tricia , California, USA) add more info |

Rule the World
You light the skies up above me
A star so bright you blind me
Don't close your eyes
Don't fade away
My heart, I know, now I'll lose you
So pure your love is so amazing
yeah yeah
Don't close your eyes
Don't fade away
Don't fade away
Yeah you and me we can ride on a star
If you stay with me girl,
We can rule the world
Yeah you and me we can light up the sky
If you stay by me side
We can rule the world
If walls break down, I will comfort you
If angels cry, oh I'll be there for you
You've saved my soul
Don't leave me now
Don't leave me now
Yeah you and me we can ride on a star
If you stay with me girl,
We can rule the world
Yeah you and me we can light up the sky
If you stay by me side
We can rule the world
All the stars are coming out tonight
They're lighting up the sky tonight
For you, for you
Yeah you and me we can ride on a star
If you stay with me, girl,
We can rule the world
Yeah you and me we can light up the sky
If you stay by me side
We can rule the world
All the stars are coming out tonight
They're lighting up the sky tonight
For you, for you

A: | "Rule the World" is not the song at the end of the movie. I'm still trying to find out what it is. Anyone else out there know? (thanks to Giles, U.S.) add more info |
A: | It is most definitely "Rule the World" by Take That. Since Take That is not a US band, it's not on the US Itunes. There is a version by Knights Bridge that you can download... (thanks to steph, Dublin, Ireland) add more info |
